Overview

  • Forget standard sightseeing. Join Alex, a European based in the Philippines, for a relaxed 2.5-hour Makati walk exploring wealth and inequality, political dynasties, urban development, nightlife, the Pasig River, and everyday Filipino life.

From Rockwell Centre, compare luxury towers with lively districts and riverside communities. Connect what you see to big questions: why this country has such striking contrasts, how powerful families shape politics, and what religion, history, and foreign influence mean today.
Expect conversation, not lectures. Alex combines outsider curiosity with local knowledge and makes complex subjects accessible. Ideal for curious travellers interested in politics, culture, sociology and places beyond the usual attractions. No knowledge needed.

Come for a walk; leave with a different understanding of the Philippines.
