Begin with a pickup from your hotel in El Poblado or Laureles, or meet at a designated meeting point in Medellín. Travel in a modern bus with air conditioning and reclining seats. Be accompanied all day by a bilingual guide (Spanish/English).
Make an early stop for a traditional Colombian breakfast at a partner roadside restaurant. Then, continue to New Peñol to see the Phoenix monument and visit the Rock Temple (Templo Roca), a church built inside a massive rock. Explore the interior and admire religious art.
Next, stop at Alto del Chocho, known for scenic views, local crafts, and animal encounters. See llamas, ponies, goats, and horses, and optionally purchase approved feed to interact with them.
After that, arrive at El Peñol Rock area. Enjoy free time for photos and viewpoints, and if you choose, climb to the top by purchasing the entry ticket on-site (not included).
Depending on the day’s operation, lunch is served either at a partner restaurant along the route or near Guatapé/El Peñol.
Continue with a visit to the Replica of Old Peñol, which recreates the town as it was before the reservoir was built, offering a meaningful look into local history.
Then, enjoy a party boat ride on the reservoir. Listen to music and enjoy a panoramic cruise while learning local stories and spotting highlights such as the submerged church cross, celebrity homes, and other iconic points.
Finally, visit the town of Guatapé, famous for its colourful streets and decorative zócalos. Have time to walk around, take photos, and enjoy the atmosphere before returning to Medellín.
