Enjoy exploring the town of Meersburg on Lake Constance! Spiced up with anecdotes, we will introduce you to over 1,000 years of history on our tour and you will get to know the sights of the picturesque old town.

On your tour - in the middle of the old town, in the vineyard and on the banks of Lake Constance - you will enjoy a selection of excellent Lake Constance wines and learn everything you need to know about the special features of Lake Constance as a wine landscape. You will also hear stories and anecdotes about the Lake Constance wines made here.

The wines of Lake Constance grow on soils that were created during the last ice age - this is unique in Germany. The mild climate of Lake Constance and the centuries-old winemaking tradition produce wines that are among Germany's top class.

Our tour starts at the Untertor, not far from the lake promenade, and takes us into the upper town to the Schnabelgierebrunnen, further through the picturesque streets and past the market square and town hall to the old Meersburg Castle and the New Castle with its worth seeing castle chapel and its baroque garden, from where You can enjoy a fantastic view of Lake Constance.

We continue to the Meersburg state winery and the former seminary, which is now home to the Droste-Hülshoff-Gymnasium. During a short detour you will take a look at the Vineum wine museum and find out what the healing process of “animal magnetism” is all about. On the shores of Lake Constance, not far from Meersburg harbour, the “Magic Column” by the sculptor Peter Lenk brings you a satirical insight into bizarre personalities from the city's history.

Finally, visit the Meersburg Winegrowers' Association and taste one of the best wines before your enjoyable city tour ends at the starting point.
