We will take you to discover what the Forest of Chapultepec Park is truly about. We will start with a half-hour visit to the Museum of Modern Art, where we will tour one of the galleries. We will then continue to Chapultepec Castle, where we will spend 45 to 60 minutes.
We will then continue our tour to the Audiorama. In pre-Hispanic times, this area was home to the spectacular Cincalco Cave (Cave of the Place of Maize), which led to Mictlán, a place considered by the Mexica to be a gateway between the world of the living and the dead. They also believed that Tlaloc, the god of water, lived on this hill. According to indigenous sources, Huémac, the last Toltec ruler, took his own life in the cave in 1162, after personally experiencing the decline and ruin of the Toltec people. It is considered an element that “protects visitors and fills them with energy.”
Our next stop is Los Pinos, the former residence of Mexico's presidents, which was opened to the public in 2018 and transformed into the Los Pinos Cultural Complex. Inside Los Pinos, we will take a short break at one of the city's finest cafés, Café Passmar, a hidden gem in Chapultepec.
We will continue to the second section of the Forest of Chapultepec, where we will visit the Cárcamo de Dolores Museum.
After this stop, we will return to our original departure point.
