Discover the full beauty of Milford Sound on a scenic cruise through the Eighth Wonder of the World. As you travel through the fiord, keep an eye out for Milford Sound’s wildlife including New Zealand fur seals resting on rocky outcrops, pods of dolphins and, in certain seasons, the rare tawaki Fiordland crested penguin. Throughout the cruise, your onboard guide shares stories of the region’s geology, history and natural environment, and will point out wildlife sightings as they happen.

• Self drive: Make your own way to Milford Sound and meet the cruise at the terminal.
• Coach from Queenstown: Sit back in a glass roofed coach and enjoy scenic stops, photo opportunities, and expert commentary along the famous Milford Road.
• Coach from Te Anau: A shorter travel day with the same stunning landscapes and well timed scenic stops.

Piopiotahi Milford Sound is one of the world's most spectacular environments, and it comes with natural hazard risk. A large earthquake or tsunami is extremely unlikely during your visit, especially a short one. Even so, these hazards do pose a risk to life, and once you are there, your options to stay safe are limited.

What to do:If an earthquake feels LONG or STRONG, Get GONE. Move up and away from waterways (the fiord and rivers) as quickly as possible. If you see or hear a landslide, do the same.
