Discover the authentic flavours and farming traditions of Tuscany during this unique experience on a local farm, just outside the historic town of Montepulciano and near the Sanctuary of Madonna della Querce. Get up close with the iconic Cinta Senese pigs and enjoy a farm-to-table Tuscan lunch.
Receive a warm welcome and guided tour with Roberto, the passionate farmer and host. Stroll through the olive groves with panoramic views of Montepulciano while learning how olives are harvested and turned into extra virgin olive oil. Visit the upper vineyard, where you’ll see the vines that produce local Tuscan wines.
Meet the pigs – especially Ciro, the alpha pig and first member of the farm. These are Cinta Senese pigs, a traditional Tuscan breed. Watch them forage, dig, and roll in the mud. You can take photos and even pet them from a safe, open-air enclosure.
Take a seasonal vegetable garden tour, where you’ll learn about what’s growing at the time of your visit. Stop by the ageing room, where cured meats made from the farm’s pigs are slowly matured using traditional methods.
End your visit with a delicious, multi-course lunch featuring farm-fresh products, including traditional Tuscan starters, a homemade first course (pasta or seasonal dish), a selection of Cinta Senese cured meats, a Pecorino cheese platter from nearby Pienza, dessert, and local wine and water.
