You’ll then enjoy a comfortable transfer to your hotel, with time to freshen up and relax. We then arrive in Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of the country, where centuries of tradition, learning, and craftsmanship come alive.

After breakfast, meet your local Fassi guide for a full-day exploration of the oldest and most fascinating medina in Morocco. Start with the Royal Palace gates and the Mellah, the old Jewish Quarter, before heading to a viewpoint overlooking the sprawling maze of Fes. Visit a traditional pottery workshop to discover how mosaics and ceramics are still handmade using ancestral techniques. Then enter the medina, where you’ll walk through narrow alleys filled with markets, bakeries, weavers, metal workers, and wood artisans. Start your journey from Fes to Merzouga, a drive of about 8 hours with stops along the way. Your first stop is Ifrane, also called the Switzerland of Morocco. It’s a peaceful town with clean streets, pretty gardens, and cute alpine-style houses. Nearby, the cedar forests of Azrou are home to friendly Barbary monkeys you might see playing in the trees.

Midelt

Continue south to Midelt, nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains. After lunch, you’ll see the landscape change, green mountains turn into rocky plateaus and desert-like scenery.

Merzouga

Arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara and the towering dunes of Erg Chebbi. A camel ride carries you into the golden sands at sunset. The day ends with dinner, local music, and an unforgettable night under the star-filled Saharan sky.
