Our proposed itinerary will allow you, against a backdrop like no other, to visit the most spectacular sites related to the Southeast Crater, the youngest but most active of Mount Etna's four summit craters and the focus of recent eruptions, with the chance to see the new lava flow from August 2025.

Pick-up at 7:40 AM at a meeting point to be agreed upon
Arrival at 6,234 feet above sea level, where our guide will be waiting for you.
Completion of formalities.
Departure time 10:00.

The excursion includes an ascent by cable car and jeep to an elevation of 2,800 metres above sea level, from where, accompanied by our volcanology guide, you will reach an altitude of approximately 3,000 metres above sea level.
From this altitude, you will be able to admire the view of Etna's impressive summit craters in all their grandeur (the Central Crater, divided into Bocca Nuova and Voragine; the Southeast Crater; and the Northeast Crater) and the craters from the volcano's most recent eruptions, as well as pass through a lava flow tunnel measuring approximately 100 metres (328 feet).
After visiting the base of the summit area, and in particular the sites of the most recent eruptions, you will continue your descent on foot,
passing through the sites of the other recent eruptions and the Valle del Bove depression, from where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Ionian coast (Aeolian Islands and Calabria).

Return to the departure point by jeep and cable car.
Drop-off at the previously agreed location.
This return hike lasts approximately 4.5 hours.
Medium-low difficulty, suitable for those accustomed to walking.
