Leave the urban hustle behind and embark on a natural feast combining volcanoes, grasslands, and canyons. Immerse yourself in the primitive wildness and gentle poetry of Kyushu.
Stop 1: Nakadake Crater of Mount Aso
A highly active volcanic wonderland in Japan! Standing on the observation deck, you can gaze closely at the smoking crater, witness the surging energy deep within the earth, and feel the overwhelming shock and awe.
Important Notes
Due to a recent helicopter accident at Mount Aso, the attraction is currently closed. The itinerary
will replace the Mount Aso stop with another attraction. If Mount Aso reopens, the tour willresume visiting Mount Aso as originally planned. Thank you for your understanding, Please book cautiously if this is a concern.
Mount Aso Crater Opening Status
The opening of the crater depends solely on volcanic gas concentration levels, not weather conditions. For real-time updates, check the official website: Aso Volcano Observatory.
Free Service Information
The shuttle bus service to and from Mount Aso is included in the tour fee. No separate refund will be issued if the service is unavailable due to force majeure.
Stop 2: Kusasenri Plateau
Emerging slowly from the volcano's grandeur, we head to Kusasenri for a relaxing experience. You can stroll leisurely along winding paths, letting the breeze brush your hair; opt for the paid horse-riding to gallop freely; or simply lie on the soft grass, unwind in the fragrance of greenery, and let all fatigue melt away. Lunch will be arranged here(at your own expense), allowing you to enjoy meals amid the grassland scenery.
Stop 3: Takachiho Gorge
After enjoying the grassland, we continue to explore Takachiho Gorge, one of Japan's most mysterious canyons (boat tour optional).Important Reminder:Each boat accommodates a maximum of 3 guests. Solo travellers share the boat with other guests, we appreciate your understanding. If you choose the boat tour, board a traditional hand-rowed boat and glide slowly into the narrow waterway: sheer basalt cliffs rise on both sides, and Takachiho Waterfall cascades down like a silver river, splashing tiny droplets. The reflections of the boat, mountains, and waterfall blend seamlessly, creating a dreamlike scene. If you prefer hiking, select the hiking package, wander along the stone steps, and explore every inch of this hidden gem on foot.
As the sun dips west, we set off on the return trip to Fukuoka.
