Explore Kenya’s Great Rift Valley on a group-joining day trip to Lake Nakuru National Park and Lake Naivasha. Share the adventure with fellow travellers as you enjoy wildlife viewing, scenic landscapes, and an optional boat ride.
Your day begins with early morning pickup from your hotel or agreed location in Nairobi. Meet your driver-guide and travel towards Lake Nakuru, with an optional stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photographs and panoramic views. Allow approximately 2.5–3 hours for the journey, depending on traffic and stops.
On arrival at Lake Nakuru National Park, set out on an approximately four-hour guided game drive. Explore the park’s grasslands, woodland, and lakeside areas in search of rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, baboons, and other wildlife. Watch for birds along the shoreline, with possible flamingo sightings depending on conditions.
Your guide will help you spot wildlife and share insights into the park’s habitats and conservation efforts. Pause along the route for photographs and views across the lake, with time for a lunch break before continuing your journey.
Depart the park at approximately 3:00pm and head to Lake Naivasha. Here, you can join an optional one-hour boat ride, enjoying the scenery while watching for hippos and birds, including African fish eagles.
If you prefer not to take the boat ride, remain at the lakeside meeting area or in the vehicle while the other guests complete the activity. The group will continue together once the boat returns.
After your visit, begin the return journey to Nairobi, ending with drop-off at your hotel or original pickup location. Arrival will be in the evening, depending on traffic and the day’s activities.
