What you can expect

The tour begins on the ground floor in the Cappella degli Illustrissimi, originally dedicated to St. Paul and conceived between 1308 and 1320 by Archbishop Umberto d'Ormont.

This chapel houses two extraordinary 14th-century masterpieces: the Tree of Jesse, a large fresco attributed to Lello da Orvieto that outlines the genealogy of Christ, and the Stories of the Passion of Christ, a pictorial cycle with Giottesque and Avignon influences painted on the small side door that leads to the roofs.

As you go up, you will see parts of the Cathedral that were once invisible, such as the remains of the 15th-century dome and the 18th-century “forest” consisting of a suspended false dome.

From the walkways, you can also enjoy a unique and spectacular view of the entire city of Naples: from the sea to the hinterland, the view allows you to retrace the city's centuries-old history.

The itinerary on the rooftops of the Duomo is an emotional journey through the centuries, an intimate dialogue with the city's art and architecture, a visual embrace that sweeps from the blue of the Gulf to the majestic profile of Mount Vesuvius.

This experience stems from the vision of the MuDD project - Museo Diocesano Diffuso, which marks the first and historic opening of the roofs of the Cathedral of Naples to the public.

This milestone was made possible thanks to the young people of the area who have chosen to stay and invest their future here, strongly believing in the potential of their city.

Book your ticket now to walk where history meets the sky and take home an unforgettable memory.

We look forward to seeing you 40 metres up in the air to reveal the secrets of Naples in a 360-degree view.
