The house was built over 50 years ago by my father-in-law using traditional shrine and temple construction techniques. The natural Japanese cypress pillars rest directly on stone foundations — a method used in historic shrines and temples across Japan for centuries.

He also serves as a representative of a local shrine, reflecting a deep connection to Japanese craftsmanship and culture.

Relax in the garden, enjoy tea and traditional Japanese sweets in a tatami room, and experience a gentle Japanese bodywork session designed to release travel fatigue after a long flight.

Only one group is hosted each day, ensuring a calm and personal experience created just for you and your group.

Activity itinerary

Your experience begins with pickup from Narita Airport or a nearby hotel, followed by a short drive into a quiet residential area just outside the airport. Near the house, you will see a small local shrine and a Buddhist temple standing side by side — a unique setting that reflects Japan’s long tradition where Shinto and Buddhism exist together. Surrounded by these sacred places, the area has a peaceful and slightly mysterious atmosphere rarely experienced by travellers. You will then enter a traditional Japanese home with a private garden. Inside, you can relax in a tatami room while enjoying tea and traditional Japanese sweets. During your visit, you will also experience a gentle Japanese bodywork session designed to help release tension and refresh your body after a long flight. The pace of the experience is calm and unhurried, allowing you to rest and enjoy the quiet surroundings before continuing your journey. At the end of the experience, you will be comfortably driven back to Narita Airport or to a hotel in the Narita area.
