What you can expect

Journey into the heart of New Brunswick’s past at Kings Landing, a vibrant living history museum set along the picturesque St. John River. Here, history isn’t just displayed — it’s lived. Wander through a recreated 1800s village where costumed interpreters invite you into their daily routines, from forging iron in the blacksmith’s shop to tending heritage livestock and preparing meals over open fires. Every building, from the bustling Grant Store to the cosy family homes, is filled with authentic stories and hands-on experiences.

Stroll at your own pace, pausing to chat with villagers about their crafts or to join in seasonal activities like planting, harvesting, or baking. Children can try their hand at old-fashioned chores or games, while adults might help churn butter or learn about traditional woodworking. The ever-changing calendar means there’s always something new to discover, whether it’s a lively festival or a quiet afternoon in the orchard.

When it’s time for a break, enjoy homemade fare at The King’s Head Inn. Don’t forget to browse the Peddler’s Market for locally made goods before you go.

Please note: In June and July 2026, essential upgrades are underway on the east side of the village, but the west side remains open with reduced admission. The full experience returns in August, promising even more to explore.
