    Winter Routing (Nov–Apr)
    Because mountain roads close for snow, your tour becomes an exclusive Winter Wildlife Safari. Track massive free-roaming bison on the ploughed Custer State Park Wildlife Loop from the heated comfort of the Caleche. We also stop at the famous “Begging Burros” sliding open the panoramic roof so your family can hand-feed them nutritious treats.

Look back through the Caleche’s panoramic glass roof as we pass through narrow, one-lane granite tunnels that perfectly frame Mount Rushmore in the distance.

[SUMMER ROUTING ONLY: May 1 – Oct 31] We enter the high elevations of Custer State Park to drive the legendary Needles Highway. This is where the Mercedes Caleche truly shines. Our sliding glass roof allows your entire group to look 500 feet straight up at the towering granite rock spires—including the famous Needles Eye Tunnel—providing an immersive, vertical view that is physically impossible in a standard rental vehicle. (Note: Winter guests do not travel this road due to seasonal snow closures, and will instead experience the Winter Wildlife Safari).

Wildlife Loop Road

Crazy Horse Memorial
