Overview

This small group rustic food trail tour has been carefully selected to ensure you are shown the very best of rural WA in a way that celebrates small farmers, local growers and the true Perth locals that put their heart and souls into making this region unique.

We head down dirt roads, visit farm gate produce sheds and even to a monastery in the outback to find the kinda stuff you wont find on the supermarket shelves.

Its not flashy and its not commercial, but here's what you can expect and what makes this tour unique:

  • Boutique farm gate stalls & passionate farmers.
  • Sample local artisan cheese, gelato and honey.
  • Handcrafted Ale & pale ale from a traditional monastery recipe.
  • Home baked bread from an original 120 year old wood fired oven.
  • Award winning olive oil from some of WA's oldest olive groves.

Little Eeden Farm Honey and Apiary

  • 1h
  • Admission ticket included
Hidden along the back roads of the Chittering Valley, we’ll find The Hive Café situated amongst the pine trees and farm animals. There’s nothing really ‘little’ about Little Eeden Honey Farm except for the honey bees. The lunch portions are generous, the peacocks love to show off, rustic metal art decorates the gardens, and if you’re lucky, the emu will come out to say hello. This place has a big personality with genuine local charm. Sample the bush honey or try their famous Bee Tea honey. The farm is known for its honey infusions, using local ingredients and secret recipes to create the sweetest honey treats.

New Norcia

  • 2h 30m
If you thought this tour couldn’t get any more 'off the beaten track,' you’ll be surprised when we arrive at a Spanish Benedictine monastery buried within the heart of the Australian outback. Founded in 1847 by Benedictine monks, New Norcia developed into a self sufficient, progressive agricultural mission. Being the only living and working monastic town left in the nation, it still produces many of its original products using traditional recipes. Sample freshly baked bread from the 1902 wood fired oven with New Norcia’s award winning olive oil. Try the handcrafted traditional monastic Abbey Ale, the lighter Pale Ale, vintage muscat, and St Benedict’s Port. Roam the architectural heritage protected streets and walk in the footsteps of the pioneers who built this historic community. Visit the 1850s Mission Cottage, home to the Indigenous Yued people. Step inside the Benedictine Abbey, visit the town cemetery and the Rock of Remembrance, which acknowledges New Norcia’s complex past.

Wheatbelt

  • 1h 30m
Travelling through the Wheatbelt region of WA we make our way back to Perth. Farm gate stalls offering fresh fruit and vegetables provide a perfect roadside stop to stock up on seasonal, farm fresh produce. Influenced by the seasons, expect to see citrus varieties, stone fruit, capsicum, tomatoes, and root vegetables.
