What you can expect

  • Day 1: Ancestral Roots in Wilcahuain
We'll start with a gentle hike to the Wilcahuain Archaeological Site. This hike along rural trails allows you to stretch your legs and begin to acclimatise to the altitude while exploring temples of the Huari culture, surrounded by landscapes of everyday Andean life.
Day 2: Mirrors of Water and Altitude (Laguna Antacocha)
We'll start with a visit to Lake Antacocha, a peaceful spot ideal for getting oxygenated.
Day 3: Next, we head to the iconic Laguna 69. The effort of the ascent is rewarded by its turquoise waters beneath the granite walls of Chacraraju. Afterwards, we'll settle in at Refugio Perú (4,765 m) for our first night in the high mountains.
Day 4: The Big Challenge: Summit of Nevado Pisco
We set off in the early morning. We'll cross the moraine and the glacier to reach the summit of Nevado Pisco. From the summit, you'll enjoy one of the most comprehensive panoramic views of the Andes, including Huascarán, Chopicalqui, and Alpamayo. After celebrating reaching the summit, we'll descend to spend the night once again in the comfort of the lodge.
Day 5: Farewell to the Mountains
After breakfast overlooking the glaciers, we'll begin the final descent to Cebollapampa, where our transport will be waiting for us to return to Huaraz, bringing to a close an unforgettable adventure of summiting and nature.
