There should be 4 major mountains on the city wall ; North, South, West and East. Bukaksan is the Northern moutain, which is hugging 5 royal palaces and it is Main Mt. of the Primary palace along to the Geomancy or Feng-Shui that is the theory of Wind-and-Water Magic.

This village had been the best living place of the Feng-Shui during the Joseon dynasty (1392 ~ 1910). Located and situated between two royal palaces ; Only 30 big edifices. All they are noble/upperclass, literati and royal families. Now, there are 2,600 houses and buildings ; small, compact and sharing one wall each house in the neighbouhood. At Insadong street (around 700 metres long), located in the middle of the city, is very popular, unique, antique, traditonal landscapes.
