What you can expect

Take a comprehensive tour to 3 stunning areas located near Mandalay and see some of the most famous sights in Myanmar. Visit Mahagandayon, a famous Buddhist monastery, then see the U Bein Bridge, Nan Myint Tower, Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monastery, and the Bargayar Monastery.

After a convenient pickup from your hotel, enjoy the 30 minute drive to Amarapura. Here you visit the Mahagandayon Monastery where over a thousand monks live and study. Then continue to the 200-year-old U Bein Bridge that was built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was the royal capital.

Move onto the Bagaya Monastery that features a remarkable collection of Buddha statues. After lunch at a local restaurant, hop aboard a boat for a short trip to the former royal capital of Inwa. Here you visit the Nan Myint Tower, the remains of the palace building nicknamed “the leaning tower of Ava.” Maha Aungmye Bonzan is your next stop. Built of brick and stucco, this monastery is breathtakingly beautiful.

From here you journey on to see the Bargayar Monastery, famous for its impressively ornate wood carving and teak posts. Your last stop at sunset is Sagaing Hills which is a retreat for Buddhist devotees. Conclude your full-day excursion with easy transport back to your hotel.
