Overview

Croatia is a country of incredible wine & food. My wish is to take you on a tour of authentic Croatian wineries with a long-standing family tradition of producing quality and organic products.

Our first stop is in the village near Skradin. There is a small winery with a 500 years long tradition in wine making. You will meet winemaker who is 9th generation of wine makers in the family and you will be able to taste 3 sorts of his wine made of authentic local grape sorts. Also, you will taste his homemade products like prosciutto, various sorts of cheeses, olive oil etc.

After that, I will take you to Kaštela, town near Split, where the first vines of the world-famous Zinfandel were planted. The young winemaker Ivan, who inherited business from his father, is waiting for us there. He will serve you his wines made from authentic grape varieties. You will be able to taste Croatian Zinfandel - Crljenjak. Also, you will taste local seafood such as octopus salad, anchovies in olive oil, etc.

Tour starts by picking you up at desired location in Split county and then follows one hour long ride to village Plastovo near city of Skradin.

First stop of our tour is village Plastovo near city of Skradin where you will visit small and authentic winery with 500 years long tradition. Wine maker is 9th generation of wine makers in his family and he will serve 3 sorts of his wine made of indigenous sorts of grapes. Also, you will be able to taste his homemade products for lunch as prosciutto, pancetta, 2 sorts of cheese, extra virgin olive oil, tomatoes, olives etc. In addition to wine and olive oil, he also produces liqueurs from various types of fruit that grow in the area. I believe you will enjoy tasting some of the liqueurs as well. After visiting one of the vineyards, we are ready to continue.

In Kaštela, a town near Split, a young winemaker Ivan, who inherited the business from his father, is waiting for us. In family tavern by the sea, you will taste his wines, also produced from indigenous grape varieties. Kaštela is famous because it is the first place in the world where the world-famous Zinfandel vine was planted. Ivan produces the Croatian variant of Zinfandel known as Crljenjak, and you will be able to taste it. His mother will prepare a seafood-based lunch for you, and you will be able to taste octopus salad, anchovies and cheese in olive oil, etc.
