Description

National Monument, Presidential Palace, Istiqlal Grand Mosque and the Cathedral. The Mosque and Church are located across each other and has a shared car parks on certain Holy Days.

Vihara Dharma Bhakti, also known as Jin dé yuàn or Hokkien Kim Tek Ie. Completed in 1650, is the oldest Chinese temple in Jakarta “, built to honour Kwan Im whom the temple is dedicated to.

Kota Tua is the area that was once known as Oud Batavia and the historical centre of sprawling Jakarta. The square is home to some beautiful old Dutch-style buildings located next to each other.

Jakarta Fatahillah History Museum is housed in the old town hall of Batavia, a stately Dutch colonial structure that was once the epicentre of an empire. This bell-towered building, built in 1627, served the administration of the city and was also used by the city law courts. Today it presents a grand white-washed facade to Taman Fatahillah, while inside it has a collection of artefacts.

Museum Wayang Puppet, showcases extensive collection of many forms of Indonesian puppets, as well as displays of puppets and dolls from around the world

Relax at Cafe Batavia (optional), a 200-year-old building overlooking Kota's old Dutch quarter; a classy bistro styled with colonial decor, old parlour floors, marble tabletops and art deco furnishings.

Sunda Kelapa harbour, is in the north of the city at the mouth of the Ciliwung River. This is where the Portuguese traded with the Hindu Kingdom of Pajajaran in the early 16th century and where Dutch domination of Indonesia began.
