What you can expect

Morning – Scenic Drive via Lake Lungern

Your English-speaking driver will pick you up from your hotel in Interlaken and begin a scenic journey towards Central Switzerland. The route follows Lake Brienz before climbing through the Brünig Pass, a classic alpine road linking the Bernese Oberland with the Lucerne region.

Midway, you reach Lake Lungern — one of Switzerland’s most picturesque alpine lakes. Its turquoise waters, surrounded by forested hills and traditional wooden chalets, create a peaceful mountain atmosphere. You’ll stop at the official Panorama Point, offering sweeping views over the lake and valley, with colours shifting from emerald green to deep sapphire blue. If time allows, enjoy a short coffee break before continuing towards Lucerne.

Late Morning – Lucerne’s Old Town & Swiss Heritage

Arriving in Lucerne, you’ll immediately feel the city’s unique balance of history and calm. Founded in the 8th century, Lucerne grew into an important trading town and a founding member of the Swiss Confederation.

Your walk begins at the famous Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), built in 1333 and decorated with historic painted panels, followed by the Water Tower, once used as a treasury and prison. Nearby stands the Lion Monument, carved into the rock to honour Swiss Guards who died during the French Revolution — described by Mark Twain as “the most moving piece of stone in the world.”

You then enjoy free time to explore the Old Town, shop for Swiss watches or chocolates, or relax with lunch by the Reuss River, sampling local specialities such as Rösti or Luzerner Chügelipastete.

Midday – Lake Lucerne Cruise

Next comes a relaxing panoramic cruise on Lake Lucerne. Covering 114 km² and over 200 metres deep, the lake reflects surrounding peaks like a living postcard. As the boat glides past lakeside villas and wooded slopes, views open towards Mount Pilatus, Mount Rigi, and the Bürgenstock. Commentary highlights landmarks such as William Tell’s Chapel and charming villages like Weggis and Vitznau.

Afternoon – Mount Pilatus: The Dragon Mountain (optional)

After the cruise, ascend Mount Pilatus (optional). In summer, ride the world’s steepest cogwheel railway; in other seasons, the panoramic cableway and Dragon Ride gondola offer stunning aerial views. At Pilatus Kulm (2,132 m), panoramic terraces reveal views of over 70 Alpine peaks. Pilatus blends legend and engineering — once believed to be home to dragons, today a symbol of Swiss precision.

Evening – Return to Interlaken

Your driver meets you for the scenic return to Interlaken as evening light softens the landscapes around Lakes Lungern and Brienz, concluding a perfectly balanced day of nature, culture, and comfort.
