Le Monument de la Renaissance Africaine (Pass by)

The African Renaissance Monument is one of the most impressive symbols of Dakar and represents the aspiration of the African continent towards a future of progress, unity and rebirth. Standing at 52 metres tall, it is the tallest statue in Africa and dominates the city from the top of the Mamelles hill, offering spectacular views of the coast and the Atlantic Ocean. During the visit you will discover the meaning of the carved figures: a man, a woman and a child looking towards the horizon, symbolising hope, freedom and confidence in the future. The Guide will explain the history of its construction, its artistic value and the message that the monument intends to convey. You can also climb to the viewing platform located inside the monument (not included in the ticket), from which you can admire a unique view of Dakar. This stage combines art, contemporary history and breathtaking landscapes, offering a privileged perspective on the Senegalese capital.
