Rita the Rock Planter is a captivating 21-foot-tall wooden troll sculpture located near Victor, just south of Cripple Creek. Created in August 2023 by Danish artist Thomas Dambo, Rita is crafted entirely from recycled wood and was constructed with the help of over 100 volunteers. She is depicted kneeling and carefully placing rocks, symbolising the restoration of the land affected by historical mining activities in the area. This is but one example of the many amazing places we might explore on your personalised adventure, tailored just for you and your group.
Phantom Canyon Road
  • 15m
Phantom Canyon Road is a scenic and historic unpaved route that connects Cañon City to Victor. Originally the path of the Florence & Cripple Creek Railway built in 1894, it served as a vital link to the goldfields of Cripple Creek and Victor during Colorado's gold rush era. Today, the road offers travellers a journey through rugged canyons, historic tunnels, and over elevated bridges providing diverse landscapes and opportunities to observe local wildlife. This is but one example of the many amazing places we might explore on your personalised adventure, tailored just for you and your group.
Shelf Road
  • 15m
Shelf Road is a historic and scenic route that connects Cañon City to Cripple Creek. Constructed in 1892 as a toll road, it was originally used by stagecoaches and freight wagons transporting goods to and from the Cripple Creek Gold Mining District. The road is renowned for a five-mile stretch known as "The Shelf," where it clings to sheer limestone cliffs above Fourmile Creek, offering dramatic views of the surrounding canyons. This is but one example of the many amazing places we might explore on your personalised adventure, tailored just for you and your group.
Upper Gold Camp Road
  • 15m
Gold Camp Road is a historic and scenic route that winds around the back side of Pikes Peak, through the mountains between Colorado Springs and the former mining towns of Cripple Creek and Victor. Originally constructed in the late 19th century as part of the Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek District Railway, the route was known as the "Short Line" and served as a vital transport corridor during the gold rush era. After the railway ceased operations in the early 20th century, the corridor was converted into a roadway, allowing for vehicular travel through the picturesque terrain. Today, Gold Camp Road offers travellers a journey through dense forests, along rugged cliffs, and past historic tunnels that were once part of the railway system. This is but one example of the many amazing places we might explore on your personalised adventure, tailored just for you and your group.
Rampart Range Road
  • 15m
Rampart Range Road is a historic and scenic unpaved route that winds through Colorado's Pike National Forest, offering panoramic views of Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, and the surrounding Front Range. Originally constructed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the road was designed to provide access to the forest and has since become a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. This is but one example of the many amazing places we might explore on your personalised adventure, tailored just for you and your group.

Cripple Creek (Pass by)
Cripple Creek offers a blend of rich history and engaging attractions and was the site of Colorado's last major gold rush in the 1890s, producing over 22 million ounces of gold in two decades. The town's historic district, recognised as a National Historic Landmark, preserves this legacy with well-maintained 19th-century buildings and informative museums. This is but one example of the many amazing places we might explore on your personalised adventure, tailored just for you and your group.
Victor (Pass by)
Victor, known as the "City of Gold Mines," offers a captivating journey into the heart of Colorado's gold rush history. Established in the 1890s, Victor was once a bustling mining town, and today, it preserves much of its historic charm with well-preserved 19th-century architecture and a rich cultural heritage.
