Activity itinerary

Villa Borghese

  • 10m
We start tour inside the beautiful Villa Borghese park, one of the largest green areas in Rome. From the Pincio terrace you will enjoy one of the most famous panoramic views of the city overlooking Piazza del Popolo and the historic centre. This peaceful location is the perfect place to introduce the history of Rome, from the Roman Empire to the Renaissance and modern times. While surrounded by gardens, fountains and historic villas, you will get a first understanding of the geography of the Eternal City before we begin exploring its streets and monuments.

Piazza di Spagna

  • 10m
The Spanish Steps are one of the most iconic places in Rome. Built in the 18th century, the staircase connects Piazza di Spagna with the church of Trinità dei Monti above. At the bottom you can see the famous Barcaccia Fountain, designed by Pietro Bernini and his son Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The area is also known for luxury shopping streets such as Via Condotti. During this stop we will talk about the history of the square and its importance in Roman life, art and fashion.

Piazza Navona

  • 15m
Piazza Navona is one of the most beautiful Baroque squares in Rome. Built on the site of the ancient Stadium of Domitian, it still preserves the shape of the Roman arena. The square is famous for the Fountain of the Four Rivers designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, representing four great rivers of the world. In front of it stands the church of Sant’Agnese in Agone. Today Piazza Navona is full of artists, cafés and street life, making it one of the most lively and picturesque places in the city.

Campo de' Fiori

  • 10m
Campo de’ Fiori is one of the most authentic squares in Rome. During the day it hosts a lively market with flowers, spices, fruits and local products. In the centre stands the statue of Giordano Bruno, the philosopher who was executed here in 1600. The square reflects the daily life of Romans and has always been a meeting point for locals and visitors. Today it is surrounded by historic buildings, restaurants and cafés.

Piazza San Pietro

  • 15m
We will reach St. Peter’s Square, the heart of Vatican City, the smallest independent state in the world. Designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini in the 17th century, the square is surrounded by a magnificent colonnade representing the welcoming arms of the Church. In front of us stands St. Peter’s Basilica, one of the largest and most important churches in the world. During this stop we will talk about the history of the Vatican and the role it has played in religion, art and politics for centuries.

Colle del Gianicolo

  • 15m
The Janiculum Hill offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Rome. From this terrace you can admire the skyline of the Eternal City with its domes, churches and monuments stretching across the horizon. Nearby stands the Fontana dell’Acqua Paola, a monumental baroque fountain often called “Il Fontanone”. The hill is also connected to the history of the Italian unification and the hero Giuseppe Garibaldi.

Ghetto Ebraico di Roma

  • 10m
The Portico d’Ottavia is located in the historic Jewish Ghetto of Rome, one of the oldest Jewish communities in Europe. Originally built during the time of Emperor Augustus, the portico was part of a large monumental complex with temples and libraries. Today its ancient columns still stand among the streets of the Ghetto, an area rich in history, culture and culinary traditions.

Pantheon

  • 15m
  • Admission ticket included
The Pantheon is the best preserved ancient Roman monument. Originally built as a temple dedicated to all the gods, it was later converted into a Christian church. The most impressive feature is its massive dome with the central oculus that lets natural light enter the building. For nearly two thousand years the Pantheon has inspired architects and artists around the world.

Piazza del Campidoglio

  • 10m
The Capitoline Hill is one of the seven hills of Rome and an important political centre since ancient times. The elegant square was redesigned by Michelangelo in the 16th century and today hosts the Capitoline Museums. From the back of the square you can enjoy a spectacular view over the Roman Forum, the heart of ancient Rome.

Piazza Venezia (Pass by)

Piazza Venezia is the central crossroads of Rome where many of the city’s high streets meet. Dominating the square is the impressive Vittoriano monument, also known as the Altare della Patria, dedicated to King Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of unified Italy. This location has been an important political and historical centre for centuries.

Colosseum

  • 20m
  • Admission ticket included
The Colosseum is the largest amphitheatre ever built in the Roman Empire and one of the most famous monuments in the world. Built in the 1st century AD, it could host more than 50,000 spectators who came to watch gladiator fights, wild animal hunts and public spectacles. Today it stands as a powerful symbol of ancient Rome and its incredible engineering achievements.

Bocca della Verita

  • 5m
The Bocca della Verità, or “Mouth of Truth”, is one of the most curious legends in Rome. According to tradition, anyone who tells a lie while placing their hand inside the mouth will have it bitten off. The ancient marble mask is located near the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin and has fascinated visitors for centuries.

Piramide Cestia (Pass by)

The Pyramid of Cestius is one of the most unusual monuments in Rome. Built around 12 BC as a tomb for the Roman magistrate Gaius Cestius, it reflects the fascination Romans had with Egyptian culture after the conquest of Egypt. The pyramid is incorporated into the ancient Aurelian Walls and stands as a surprising reminder of how diverse and cosmopolitan ancient Rome was.
