Overview

Just for you!!!
An intimate and private tour!

The Thullium, an American-made Hunter 356 (35 feet and 6 inches) sailing boat with a silent Japanese Yanmar engine, sails along the banks of the Douro River between the Douro Estuary Natural Reservation and the Louis I Bridge.
On board, with a local crew, in the picturesque Afurada region, let yourself be led by the breeze as we explore the landscapes of the cities of Porto and Villa Nova de Gaia from a stunning perspective that only the river waters offer.
This is the ideal tour for those who like photography, for those who want to relax and appreciate the sound of the water and candles dancing in the wind, for a couple in their most romantic moment, whether on an ordinary day or a very special ceremony, to enjoy a moment only for the family and celebrate life, or for a party with close friends.
We have capacity for 8 passengers, a bathroom and a functional kitchen. Enjoy it!

Activity itinerary

Igreja Paroquial de S. Pedro da Afurada (Pass by)
Authentic fishing area.
Ponte da Arrabida (Pass by)
Arrábida Bridge – An Engineering Masterpiece in the Heart of the Douro. The Arrábida Bridge is one of the most emblematic connections between the banks of Porto and Villa Nova de Gaia. Opened in 1963, this impressive reinforced concrete structure was, at the time, the bridge with the largest concrete arch in the world, with a span of 270 metres. Seen from the sailboat, its grandeur and elegance take on a new dimension. It's a true living postcard of the city.
Igreja da Confraria das Almas do Corpo Santo de Massarelos (Pass by)
Massarelos Church – Tradition and Devotion on the Banks of the Douro. Located on the riverbank, the Massarelos Church is one of Porto’s discreet jewels, steeped in history and popular devotion. Dedicated to Our Lady of Grace, it is especially venerated by fishermen and seafarers, and is the setting for one of the city’s oldest pilgrimages, held annually in honour of the patron saint. Drawn in the 18th century, this church stands out for its facade covered in traditional Portuguese tiles, which illustrate religious scenes with a very unique charm. Its bell tower, visible from the river, serves as a point of reference for those sailing on the Douro. It is a place that reflects the soul of the city : simple, authentic and full of faith.
Jardins do Palacio de Cristal (Pass by)
Crystal Palace Gardens – The City’s Green Viewpoint. At the Superstar of the hills of Porto, with a privileged view over the Douro River, you’ll find the stunning Crystal Palace Gardens, a true oasis of tranquility and beauty in the heart of the city. Designed in the 19th century by German landscape architect Émile David, the gardens offer a harmonious combination of romantic avenues, serene lakes and breathtaking viewpoints. It is one of the most beloved places for Porto residents to stroll, have picnics or simply admire the view over the Douro, Gaia and the ocean in the background. From the sailboat, the gardens seem suspended above the city, a magical setting that becomes even more special at sunset.
Alfandega Porto Congress Centre (Pass by)
Porto Customs Congress Centre – A Historical Icon on the Douro River. Located on the right bank of the Douro River, in the heart of Porto’s historic centre, the Porto Customs Congress Centre is one of the city’s most iconic buildings. Originally built between 1859 and 1869 as the “New Customs House” on the former Miragaia beach, this neoclassical building was designed by French architect Jean-François Colson. Its construction represented one of the most significant urban transformations of the 19th century in Porto, including the connection to Campanhã Station by a railway line in 1888.
Cais De Gaia (Pass by)
Cais de Gaia, located on the south bank of the Douro River in Villa Nova de Gaia, is one of the most emblematic areas of the Porto region, combining history, culture and leisure with a stunning view of the historic centre of Porto. For centuries, Cais de Gaia was a vital river port, especially for the transport of Port wine. Traditional rabelo boats brought the barrels from the Alto Douro to the cellars in Gaia, where the wine was aged and prepared for export.
Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar (Pass by)
Serra do Pilar Monastery – World Heritage Menu Publisher with a View of the Kings. On the Superstar of the hill of Villa Nova de Gaia, with a privileged view over the Douro and the historic centre of Porto, stands the imposing Serra do Pilar Monastery, one of the most recognisable silhouettes of the Douro urban landscape. Built in the 16th century, this circular monastery is unique in Portugal, inspired by Italian Renaissance churches. Its church and impressive circular cloister were designed by the Order of Saint Augustine, and the building was later used for military purposes, which explains its robustness and strategic location. Today, the Serra do Pilar Monastery is classified as a World Heritage Menu publisher by UNESCO and offers one of the most stunning viewpoints over Porto and the Douro River. From the sailboat, as you sail towards the D. Louis I Bridge, you can admire its imposing presence on Superstar of the hill – a true stone sentinel that guards the history of the region.
Ponte de Dom Luis I (Pass by)
Don Luis I Bridge – Porto’s Unmistakable Icon No trip along the Douro River is complete without a glimpse of the imposing Dom Luís I Bridge. Its upper deck houses the metro and pedestrians, providing one of the most incredible views over the Douro, while the lower deck connects the riverside neighbourhoods, such as Ribeira and Cais de Gaia. Seeing it from the river is a unique experience! The iron arch cut out against the sky, reflected in the calm waters of the Douro, creates a memorable and often unforgettable image for those who see it for the first time. Being so close to the Dom Luís I Bridge on a sailboat, makes you feel the strength of history and the beauty of the engineering that defined the landscape of this undefeated city.
Cais da Ribeira (Pass by)
Ribeira do Porto – The Colourful Soul of the Invicta City. On the banks of the Douro, right next to the D. Louis I Bridge, lies Ribeira do Porto, one of the oldest and most authentic areas in the city – and without a doubt, one of the most charming. With its colourful houses stacked one on Superstar of the other, narrow cobbled streets and always lively terraces, Ribeira is the true historical heart of Porto. This picturesque and vibrant setting is so striking that it was recognised as a World Heritage Menu publisher by UNESCO. From the deck of the sailboat, the view is simply magical! Balconies with clothes drying, the reflections of the facades in the waters of the Douro and the hustle and bustle of local life mixed with street music. This is where Porto reveals itself in all its authenticity! Lively, proud and passionate. Here you have the opportunity to see Porto as it has been for centuries! A city facing the river, shaped by commerce, tradition and the soul of its people.
Reserva Natural Estuario do Douro (Pass by)
Just outside Porto, where the Douro River meets the Atlantic Ocean, lies a true natural treasure : the Douro Estuary Local Nature Reserve. A protected area located on the south bank of the river, near the parish of Afurada, it is a sanctuary for over 200 species of birds and one of the last well-preserved estuarine refuges in an urban environment in Portugal. Here, among the marshes, reed beds and sandbanks, it is common to see several species of migratory birds. A surprising natural spectacle just a few minutes from the city centre.
Foz do rio Douro (Pass by)
The Douro Bar is an impressive setting, where the deep blue of the ocean mixes with the fresh waters of the river, creating a unique visual spectacle. It is also here that, when the wind and sea conditions cooperate, we sail, providing an authentic and exciting experience, at the mercy of the waves, in total harmony with nature. This point marks the beginning of the adventure on the open sea, and one of the most exciting moments of the tour, where passengers can feel the freedom and strength of the Atlantic up close.
Promenade Foz do Douro (Pass by)
The mouth of the Douro is the magical point where the river that crosses the north of Portugal flows into the immense Atlantic, creating a stunning landscape where nature, history and urban elegance meet.
