Discover the natural beauty of Sandwich Harbour on a full-day tour from Walvis Bay or Swakopmund. Explore the Namib Naukluft National Park, the largest park in Africa, and take in the breathtaking views of the dunes and the ocean.

Start your day when you are collected from your accommodation in either Walvis Bay or Swakopmund. After a quick briefing, start your journey to the Namib Naukluft National Park. The first stop is at the tranquil Walvis Bay lagoon, a RAMSAR site which is home to up to 250,000 flamingos, pelicans, avocets, and other birdlife.

Next, stop near the Walvis Bay salt refinery, the largest solar evaporation plant in Africa, refining up to 750,000 tonnes of salt per year. From there, head towards the beach for a fun drive towards Sandwich Harbour.

Enter the Namib Naukluft National Park, the largest park in Africa at 49,000 square kilometres, and the old border line between Namibia and South Africa. After some coastal driving, reach the narrow passage close to Sandwich Bay, where the huge Namib dunes meet the Atlantic.

Have the opportunity for photographs here, and then continue to Sandwich Bay. Once at Sandwich Lagoon, have time to explore this amazing landscape. Climb the 100-meter tall dunes in search of the best view.

If the weather permits, set up lunch here. If the weather is unpleasant, find a secluded spot in the desert and set up your lunch. After lunch, take a slow drive back towards Walvis Bay while looking for wildlife.
