A 10-hour day in Jeju, a sort of Korean Corsica, an island with a very strong identity, which resembles a mix of Sicily and Brittany: it is a volcanic island, around a majestic volcano, the most top of Korea, but also an island in the South, tropical with palm trees, and finally an island beaten by the wind, harsh, like the coasts of Brittany… but hotter!
It is also an island that is said to be run by women, the “haenyos”, because it is they who dive to bring back the particular richness of the island, its seafood which can only be picked at home. hand. These women are becoming rare, they are ageing and becoming the object of sometimes obscene tourism, but there are still authentic places to find them. And we can organise a diving session for the general public with haenyos, at an additional cost.
It is poorly served by public transport, so we offer this tour by car, the only way to discover the small beaches, the village streets and the fascinating “oreum”, volcanic mounds which dot the island.
The tour is not the same depending on whether your hotel is in Jeju-city, in the North, or towards Seogwipo, in the South.
