Experience the adventure of exploring Valdés Peninsula, one of the world's most spectacular wildlife sanctuaries, with us on this tour designed for nature and photography enthusiasts.
ABOUT THE TOUR
Your adventure begins with pickup from your accommodation in Puerto Madryn. After a short city tour to learn about its history, we will head for the Valdés Peninsula. Our first stop is at the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus Visitor Centre, where you'll enjoy views of the quintessential Patagonian landscape and the Gulfs Nuevo and San Jose, home to an impressive array of wildlife.
We will continue to the picturesque little town of Puerto Piramides for our second stop. From June to December, you will have the optional opportunity to join a 1.5-hour boat trip to get an up-close look at the majestic southern right whale (NOT included in the price). During the summer and fall, we will have some free time to explore the beach and the local charm.
We will continue our journey to Caleta Valdés (Valdés Inlet) and Punta Cantor. Here, the trails and viewpoints will allow you to observe colonies of elephant seals and sea lions. If you visit us between September and April, you will marvel at the adorable Magellanic Penguins. Between October and November, keep your eyes on the sea, as this is the season when killer whales typically patrol these shores in groups.
During the summer and fall months (December to May), we will visit Punta Norte. This is the world-famous location where, in March and April, killer whales perform “intentional stranding,” a hunting technique unique in the world.
As we travel along the gravel roads, the safari continues on land: keep a lookout for guanacos, choiques, maras, and martinetas crossing the Patagonian landscape.
After a day filled with nature at its purest, we will return to Puerto Madryn to drop you off at your accommodation.
