Discover surfing with a 100% local school: Papang Surf School. Guided by state-certified instructors who are native to Réunion and experienced surfers, you will learn (or improve) in a friendly atmosphere, with professional support focused on safety and progress.

The session starts with a clear briefing: safety instructions, the day's conditions, and personalised advice based on your skill level (beginner to intermediate). All equipment is provided, including a surfboard and wetsuit, and the instructor will support you throughout the lesson, including in the water, to help you better read the waves, choose the right moment to set off, and improve your positioning and balance.

To ensure that the session takes place under optimal conditions, the meeting point is confirmed on the morning of the session based on the weather, sea conditions, and the available supervision (Saint-Leu, Étang-Salé, or another safe location). You are covered by the school’s professional insurance and benefit from a suitable surfing environment, with access to the Enhanced Shark Watch system when it is in operation.

Just bring your swimming costume, a towel, and sun cream. On site, a reception point (Papang Surf School van or tent) will allow you to get kitted out and leave your belongings in a safe place. In the event of unfavorable conditions (rough seas, water quality, lack of supervision), the session may be postponed in order to prioritise your safety.
