We begin by driving through the dense jungle roads of the park, making a refreshing stop at the Taunay Waterfall - the tallest cascade in Tijuca Forest, surrounded by lush vegetation and the soothing sounds of nature. From there, we continue by car through scenic mountain roads until we reach the trailhead that leads to the peak.

The hike to Tijuca Peak takes you through thick forest trails filled with the sounds of birds and hidden wildlife. The final ascent includes a dramatic 117-step staircase carved into solid gneiss rock over a century ago for a visiting European king. At the summit, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking 360° views of Rio’s coastline, mountains, and skyline — one of the most incredible viewpoints in the city.
