During this 2-hour self-guided experience, you'll discover the traditional Hmong art of beeswax painting at your own pace. The session begins with a short introduction to the history of this unique craft, followed by a demonstration of the traditional tools and techniques. You'll then receive a piece of handmade fabric, natural beeswax, and a traditional wax pen to create your own design. Spend the next two hours exploring your creativity, whether you choose to recreate traditional Hmong patterns or design something entirely your own. There is no set route or lesson to follow—simply relax and enjoy the process. At the end of the session, the staff will collect your artwork and dye it using natural indigo. Because the indigo dyeing and drying process takes several hours, your finished piece will not be ready immediately. You can return later in the day to collect your completed beeswax painting, beautifully transformed into a unique handmade souvenir from Sa Pa.
