The experience begins in the historic heart of Salerno, in front of the Teatro Verdi, the starting point of a journey through history, medieval medicine and local traditions. Strolling through the characteristic alleys of the Fornelle and the ancient streets of the centre, participants will discover the fundamental role of the Schola Medica Salernitana, considered the first medical school in Europe, and the famous Regimen Sanitatis Salernitanum, a symbolic text of medieval medicine.

Along the route, interesting facts, ancient natural remedies, and the use of medicinal herbs in the Salerno tradition will be shared. The experience continues in the evocative Giardino della Minerva, a historic botanical garden dedicated to medicinal plants, where aromas and views of the Gulf of Salerno create a unique atmosphere.

The final part of the tour takes place in an old cellar in the historic old town that has been transformed into a convivial space, where guests will enjoy a guided food tasting of local delicacies such as Montanare, cured meats, cheeses, and mini pastiera. An immersive experience that combines culture, botany, history, and the authentic flavours of southern Italy.
