Start of the trip: We pick you up from your central hotel in Salta between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, getting you ready for a day full of wonders. Our total route covers 520 km, return, giving you the opportunity to explore landscapes and towns that will take your breath away.
Scenic Route: Our journey begins by crossing the summer areas of Yala, Lozano, Tiraxi, León, and the Cuesta de Bárcena, where we will make a technical stop to use the bathrooms. These landscapes will captivate you with their lush vegetation and the charm of the Andean villages.
The Humahuaca Gorge: We enter this natural wonder in the town of Volcán, passing through the village of Tumbaya and finally making our first stop in Purmamarca. Here you'll have time to marvel at the iconic Hill of 7 Colours, explore the village church, and browse the Craft Market, where you'll find unique handmade pieces.
Tilcara Discovery: Continuing another 22 km, we reach the charming village of Tilcara. Stroll through its main square, visit the church, and, if you like, explore Pucará de Tilcara, a pre-Hispanic fortress with breathtaking panoramic views.
Arrival in Humahuaca: After an additional 42-kilometer journey, we'll reach our main destination: the town of Humahuaca. Here, our tour guide will provide you with information about the main points of interest and recommend activities to enjoy in your free time. You can visit the Church of the Virgin of Candelaria, climb the stairs to the Independence Monument, or wander the narrow streets full of local artisans.
Photography in Maimará: On the way back, we'll stop in Maimará to admire and photograph the stunning rock formations known as “Las Paletas del Pintor.” These colourful mountains are a natural show not to be missed.
Drop-off in Salta: The excursion concludes with our return to Salta Capital, arriving at approximately 20:00.
