Upon reaching Shakhrisabz, you will discover a beautifully concentrated historical complex. Wander through the colossal ruins of the Ak-Saray Palace with its surviving 38-meter portals, the blue-domed Kok-Gumbaz Mosque, and the sacred crypts of Timur’s family. (Please note: entrance tickets and a professional local guide are not included, but a guide can easily be hired on-site to enrich your experience).
After exploring the ancient city, we will begin our scenic journey back towards Samarkand. No trip through these mountains is complete without experiencing the local cuisine. On our way back, we will make a special stop at a famous mountain restaurant on the pass where you can taste the legendary, melt-in-your-mouth Tandoor lamb—a true culinary masterpiece of the region. After a hearty lunch, you will be driven safely back and dropped off directly at your hotel.
