The architectural form of the Sanxingdui Museum symbolises “three stars piled up, the eye of ancient Shu”, integrating modern design with the charm of ancient Shu.
The Sanxingdui culture was the peak of civilisation in the Yangtze River Basin during the Xia and Shang Dynasties and also a unique flower of China's bronze civilization.It is also an important component of the multi-ethnic yet integrated pattern of Chinese civilisation。It is deeply rooted in the Chengdu Plain, rich in connotation and with a clear cultural development trajectory. Its emergence and development are the result of the integration and collision of diverse cultural factors, embodying the characteristics of inclusiveness, openness, pioneering and innovation.
Core cultural characteristics and cultural relics：
Bronzes：It is divided into common copper containers in the Central Plains (such as zun, ) and rare copper statue sets (such as large standing figures, bronze masks, sacred trees, etc.。
Gold vessel：Including gold staffs, gold masks, gold foil ornaments, etc., it showcases the extremely unique gold craftsmanship in the Eastern agricultural civilisation.
Jade stone tools：It includes ritual vessels such as jade zhang, jade halberd, jade bi and jade cong, reflecting a strong tradition of sacrificial ceremonies.
Pottery：Represented by small flat-bottomed jars, high-handled beans and bird-headed spoons, they were the main utensils for the daily production and life of the ancient Shu people.
