The journey begins with a 90-minute drive along less-traveled mountain roads, dropping out of the Sa Pa plateau into a lower valley system.
You will arrive at Nậm Cang to meet a small Dao village. This is where you leave the car and begin the walking portion of the tour.

Enjoy a two-hour trek on foot through active rice terraces. The route is an unpaved, narrow, and uneven trail that descends down to the Nậm Cang valley.
The landscape varies by season: mirror-flat flooded fields in May, vivid green in July and August, and deep gold in September and October. This route is completely isolated from other tour groups.

Savour a simple and delicious lunch prepared by a local Red Dao family in Nậm Cang.
The meal features rice, local vegetables, and seasonal ingredients. You will eat in or around a family home, giving you time to rest and recover from the morning trek.

Explore Nậm Cang, a community with limited exposure to organised tourism. The women here wear hand-embroidered indigo garments and layered headdresses daily.
Your host will walk you through the village for genuine introductions to local families. You will learn about their traditional herb gardens, indigo dyeing practices, and medicinal knowledge.

Spend unstructured, pressure-free time in the terraced fields above the village during the best light of the day. These terraces are much less crowded and photographed than those in Mường Hoa valley.
