Here is unique Korean traditional cultural experience in Seoul Itaewon.
The daegeum is a traditional Korean bamboo flute known for its deep, resonant, and expressive sound. It is a large transverse (side-blown) flute, meaning it is held horizontally and played by blowing across a hole on the side, similar to a Western flute. The instrument is made of bamboo and typically has six finger holes and an additional unique feature called a “cheong” (membrane hole). This thin reed membrane vibrates when you play, producing the daegeum’s distinctive buzzing, rich tone.
Begin your experience by meeting your instructor and getting your Daegeum, a traditional Korean wind instrument, fully prepared for the class. Learn about the history, structure, and unique sound of the Daegeum, along with the charm of Korean traditional music.
