The hike starts from the Abbey of San Pietro, an ancient monastic settlement that was first Benedictine and then Camaldolese, where we will visit the small church of the convent complex, built in the first half of the 11th century using local stone.

From there, we will continue to Pian Grande, where we can admire one of the most scenic views of the natural bay of Portonovo. We will descend to the site of the rock engravings, consisting of cup marks and channels that bear witness to an ancient prehistoric ritual. We will then continue to the ancient stone quarries from Roman times and finish our visit by returning to the starting point.
