Goaldi Mosque can be one of the first highlights of our tour. It is one of the oldest surviving mosques in Bangladesh, built in 1519 during the reign of Sultan Alauddin Husain Shah of the Bengal Sultanate. Located in the historic city of Sonargaon, near the famous Panam Nagar, the mosque stands as a remarkable example of early Muslim architecture in the region. The mosque features a single dome and is relatively small in size, yet it is admired for its elegant proportions and detailed terracotta ornamentation. The thick walls, beautifully decorated mihrab, and intricate carvings reflect the artistic excellence of the Sultanate period. Despite its age, the structure has been well preserved and continues to attract visitors interested in history and architecture. Visiting Goaldi Mosque offers a glimpse into the rich cultural and religious heritage of medieval Bengal, making it a meaningful and memorable starting point for the Sonargaon tour.

The area is famous for its long street lined with around 50 historic buildings, showing a blend of Mughal and colonial architecture. Today, it is an abandoned city, but its beautiful structures and quiet atmosphere offer a unique glimpse into the past, making it a great spot for history lovers and photography.
