Begin your experience just outside St. Peter’s Square, where your licensed guide will welcome you and introduce the history of the Vatican and the Basilica.
Before entering St. Peter’s Basilica, all visitors must pass through mandatory security checks required by Vatican authorities. Please note that waiting times can vary significantly depending on the day and crowd levels. The wait may take as little as 10 minutes or, during busy periods, more than an hour. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control and applies to all visitors entering the Vatican.
Once inside, discover the extraordinary beauty of St. Peter’s Basilica, one of the most iconic churches in the world. Admire masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s Pietà and Bernini’s Baldachin while learning about the artists, popes, and historical events that shaped this remarkable place.
Continue your visit in the Vatican Grottoes, located beneath the Basilica. This sacred underground area houses the tombs of many popes and important figures of the Church, including the site traditionally associated with the tomb of Saint Peter.
After the guided tour, you may remain inside the Basilica to explore further at your own pace.
Visitors who wish to climb the Dome of St. Peter’s Basilica can purchase tickets directly on site after the tour.
