Overview

Bukatilla is the Peramangk name which the indigenous people gave to this area of the Adelaide Hills. You will hear abot these people on the tour. A good news storey.

On this tour you'll hear the stories of the Prussian people who joined in this area after their escape from their King in 1838.

They were being persecuted by him for their insistence to continue their Old Lutheran faith. An amazing storey of perserverence, courage and faith. Combining this tour with a Strudel making experince provides visitors with a great combination of cultural input, and a hands on food experience - the only one in the Adelaide Hills.

You are taken to locations not available to the general public with numerous photographic opportunities.

One of the real highlights of the tour is the oldest Germanic farmlet in the Southern Hemisphere, the location which we keep secret as it is on private property and Hahndorf Walking Tours has exclusive access. Fachwerk (germanic) architecture is explained.
