Begin your journey in Yangmingshan, a district famous for its hot springs and geothermal wonders. Next, step into the Beitou Public Library, an eco-friendly architectural gem made of wood and surrounded by lush greenery. Leave Beitou and continue into the scenic mountain landscapes of Yangmingshan National Park. Stop at the Floral Clock, a famous landmark decorated with vibrant seasonal flowers surrounding a giant functioning clock. It’s a favourite photo spot and a lively symbol of the park’s natural beauty. Not far from the clock lies Zhuzihu, a tranquil valley known for its flower farms and seasonal blooms. In spring, seas of calla lilies cover the fields, while in summer, hydrangeas paint the slopes with splashes of colour. Walk along the paths between farms, enjoy fresh mountain air, and take in the pastoral charm.
As the journey continues deeper into Yangmingshan, encounter Xiaoyoukeng, a volcanic area alive with steaming fumaroles, bubbling mud pits, and a strong sulphur smell. Here, nature shows its raw and powerful side, reminding visitors of the volcanic forces that shaped northern Taiwan. Trails and observation decks allow you to safely view the steam vents while admiring sweeping views of the mountains and valleys.
Nearby, the Lengshuikeng area offers a unique experience with its milky-white sulphur spring pools and a cooler water temperature compared to other hot spring spots.
