Day 1:

Arusha National Park
Your journey begins with a transfer from Arusha to Arusha National Park. After park formalities, start your guided walking safari alongside giraffes, buffalo, and warthogs. Trek through montane forests rich in colobus monkeys and birdlife until you reach Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight. Hiking time: 5–6 hours | Distance: 10 km

Arusha National Park

Today’s trek takes you through lush forest and into the alpine zone. Enjoy panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the Meru Crater Rim. Arrive at Saddle Hut in the afternoon with an optional short hike to Little Meru (3,820m) for acclimatisation. Overnight at Saddle Hut. Hiking time: 3–4 hours | Distance: 8 km

Summit day! Wake up early (around 2 a.m.) for the challenging ascent to Socialist Peak (4,566m). Witness a magical sunrise with Kilimanjaro glowing in the distance. After celebration at the summit, descend to Saddle Hut for brunch, then continue down to Miriakamba Hut for overnight. Hiking time: 10–12 hours | Distance: 18 km

Arusha

Descend gently through forests and savannah plains back to Momela Gate, where wildlife sightings often surprise trekkers on the final stretch. Transfer back to Arusha for a well-deserved rest or onward safari. Hiking time: 3–4 hours | Distance: 7 km
