Discover the natural beauty of the Alcantara Valley, the medieval village of Castiglione, and the vineyards at one of our selected Wineries on a full-day tour from Taormina. Enjoy a wine tasting and a typical Sicilian lunch at the winery.

The day begins with a visit to the Alcantara Gorges, where the erosive process of the river has created a deep gorge, forming small beaches on the banks. Walk in the shallow waters of the river inside the gorge and admire the steep walls. If you prefer not to enter the river, admire the majesty of these unique geological structures from the outside.

Next, you will visit the Gurne dell'Alcantara, these are natural pools formed by the erosion of some waterfalls in the lava rock. Admire the lush flora and fauna and enjoy the sound of the river and waterfalls.

We will continue to the medieval village of Castiglione, which dominates the Alcantara Valley. Take a short walk to admire the view from the top near the high cliff on which the Lauria Castle and the Basilica of San Giacomo are built. Here you can enjoy a break in a typical pastry shop, where you can taste the famous cannoli and the typical homemade granita.

Finally, you will visit one of our selected wineries located at 1,000 metres above sea level on Etna. Tasting 5 different wines, including 3 white and 2 red, accompanied by a typical lunch. Your food and wine experience at the table begins here, guided by the explanations of the sommelier. Before or after the event, you will be accompanied for a walk through the vineyards and you will be able to see the winemaking area and the old cellars.
