Serra Mountain is very exposed to the trade winds, its windward side is constantly moistened by cloud condensation, and the highland forest is one of the most beautiful in Cape Verde. Just like Pico da Antònia, the State turned it into a protected area, the Serra Malagueta Natural Park (1,064 m). It is situated in a mountainous area.
