Begin your day with a drive to the Kakheti region, renowned for its ancient winemaking traditions. Your first stop is a traditional Qvevri workshop in Vardisubani. Observe the ancient clay vessel-making process and learn about Georgia’s 8,000-year-old winemaking tradition.
Next, head to the Gremi Fortress, built between the 15th and 16th centuries. Explore the fortress, which houses a church, a 15th-century tower palace, and a museum exhibiting site artefacts.
Continue to Kvareli and visit the Khareba Winery, a unique wine cellar and tunnel carved deep within the Caucasus Mountains. Enjoy a wine tour and tasting, savouring the rich flavours of Georgian wine.
Then, head to a local family winery for a delicious lunch and wine tasting. Spend some time enjoying a homemade meal and the warm hospitality of the local family.
Finally, continue to Sighnaghi, the famed city of love located on a hilltop with a panoramic view of the Alazani Valley. Take a quick tour of the town, where the remainder of the defensive wall, with 23 towers, is still standing. Afterwards, head back to Tbilisi.
