It houses over 6000 life --sized Terracotta warriors and horses in battle formation. The scale, with rows of infantry, chariots and cavalry is breathtaking Pit 2: More complex and considered the "highlight of the army's military arayIt contains arches, cavalry. charioteers, and infantry in mixed formations Pit 3: The smallest, believed to be high command headquarters It contains high--ranking officers, a wan chariot and fewer soldiers.It layout suggests it was the command post 2. The Actual Archaeological Works in Progress A key part of the visit is seeing that this is an active dig site. In Pits 1,2. you can watch archaeologists at work. painstakingly cleaning and reassembling fragments. You see the process of discovery in real time. Visiting Pit 1-- Pit 2 -- Pit 3.

It is unexcavated and likely will remain so far centuries due to technical challenges and respect for the dead. It is a powertul, mysterious presence overlooking the site. 2: The Bronze Chariots and Houses Exhibition Hall: This houses two incredibly detailed, half -life size bronze chariots, each drawn by 4 bronze horses. Discovered near by tomb in 1980. They are masterpieces of ancient metallurgy. They're fully functional and adorned with gold and silver fitting. This hall is air --conditioned and feels like a treasure vault.
