What you can expect
Explore the stunning natural beauty of Lombok on a guided tour of the Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls. Trek through the lush rainforest of northern Lombok to reach these natural wonders and take a refreshing swim in the pools below.
Begin your adventure with a scenic trek through the dense tropical forest to reach the Sendang Gile Waterfall. Listen to the soothing sounds of nature, including birds, insects, and the distant roar of rushing water. The relatively easy and family-friendly hike takes about 20-30 minutes, making it an accessible adventure for most travellers.
As you approach Sendang Gile, be greeted by the sight of the waterfall’s dramatic plunge into a crystal-clear pool below. Standing at 31 metres tall, Sendang Gile is an awe-inspiring sight, with water cascading down from a steep cliff surrounded by lush greenery. The mist created by the waterfall adds an ethereal touch to the scene, making it a perfect spot for photographers looking to capture the beauty of Lombok’s natural landscapes.
Just a short 20-minute walk from Sendang Gile lies the even more spectacular Tiu Kelep waterfall, which is often considered the highlight of the trip. Tiu Kelep, meaning “a pool” in the local Sasak language, is famed for its power and grandeur. The waterfall cascades over a rocky cliff, creating a breathtaking veil of water that thunders into the large natural pool below.
Unlike Sendang Gile, the journey to Tiu Kelep is slightly more adventurous, as it involves crossing small streams and navigating through a beautiful, dense jungle. However, the experience is well worth it. Upon reaching the base of Tiu Kelep, feel the cool mist on your face as the waterfall crashes down with impressive force, offering visitors a chance to swim in its refreshing waters or simply sit back and enjoy the magnificent surroundings.
