A/B/C Route Introduction
Basic Overview of 3 Routes
These three routes differ in uphill and downhill transport. All tickets include mountaintop sightseeing, free 7-section escalator between Tianmen Cave and summit, glass skywalk and cliff trails.
Route A: City centre Main Cableway Up · Tianmen Cave Express Cableway Down
Duration: 5–6 hours | Suitable for first-time visitors and scenery lovers
- Take the city centre main cableway (only runs to the middle station, 10 mins).
- Transfer to eco-bus via 99-Bend Road to Tianmen Cave Square.
- Climb 999 steps to Tianmen Cave or take paid auxiliary escalator.
- Take the free escalator to the summit, visit cliff trails and viewing platforms.
- Go back to Tianmen Cave Square, take express cableway downhill, then shuttle bus back city centre.
Pros: Enjoy partial main cableway scenery first; skip uphill express cableway queues.
Cons: Long waiting time for main cableway in peak seasons.
Route B: Tianmen Cave Express Cableway Up · City centre Main Cableway Down
Duration: 5.5–6.5 hours | Less crowded, flexible downhill options
- Take eco-shuttle bus to mountain gate, then 7-min express cableway to Tianmen Cave Square.
- Visit Tianmen Cave, take free escalator to the summit for full mountaintop tour.
- Two downhill choices: 1. Take express cableway back directly; 2. Take eco-bus to cableway middle station, then main cableway back city centre.
Pros: Short queue time; flexible downhill routes; enjoy cableway scenery on the way down.
Cons: Need to take a shuttle bus to start the tour.
Route C: Return by Tianmen Cave Express Cableway
Duration: 4–4.5 hours | Best for elders, kids, visitors with limited time or fear of heights
- Take shuttle bus + return express cableway to Tianmen Cave Square.
- Visit Tianmen Cave and summit via the free escalator.
- Return along the same route back to city centre.
Pros: Easy route, least walking, shortest tour time, no complicated transfer.
Cons: Cannot experience the famous main cableway.
Key Official Reminder (June 2026)
The 7455m full-length main cableway is under maintenance. Its upper section is closed. It cannot reach the summit directly until the end of 2026. All visitors need eco-bus transfer to get to Tianmen Cave.
