What you can expect
Embark on a captivating journey to Tikal National Park, home to one of the largest and most significant ancient Maya cities ever discovered. Rising above the rainforest canopy, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a rare opportunity to explore the mysteries of one of the most advanced civilisations of the ancient Americas.
Your adventure begins with a comfortable pickup from your hotel or the airport in Flores, ensuring a smooth and stress-free start to the day. After a scenic drive of approximately one hour, you will enter the vast protected jungle of Tikal, where wildlife, towering temples, and centuries of history await.
During a 3–4 hour guided exploration led by a professional expert guide, discover the fascinating storey of the Mayan civilisation. Walk through ancient plazas, climb impressive temples, and explore palaces once inhabited by Maya royalty. Learn about their remarkable achievements in astronomy, mathematics, architecture, warfare strategies, and spiritual beliefs.
More than 3,000 structures lie hidden within the jungle, and only about 30% have been excavated—making every visit feel like stepping into an ongoing archaeological discovery.
After the tour, enjoy a delicious traditional Guatemalan lunch at one of the park’s best restaurants before returning to Flores.
A higher-quality experience
This tour is operated by Tikal Go Tours, a fully licensed and insured company registered with the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (INGUAT) and a member of the Guatemalan Tourism Chamber (CAMTUR).
To provide a better experience, our tours are semi-private, with a maximum of 10 travellers per guide. This allows for a more personalised visit, better interaction with your guide, and a deeper understanding of the site—something that is difficult to achieve in large groups.
Our team has received multiple international recognitions for service quality in the Petén region, and we operate with professional guides, proper insurance, and high operational standards.
Responsible and sustainable tourism
We believe tourism should protect and benefit the places we visit. For that reason we:
• Support community initiatives and youth sports programmes in Petén
• Work with local guides and local suppliers whenever possible
• Reduce single-use plastics and promote environmentally responsible practices during our tours
• Operate with respect for the cultural and natural heritage of the Maya world
Choosing a professional operator ensures a safer, more informative, and more meaningful experience in one of the most extraordinary archaeological sites in the world.
